1 edit | If not plagued by any issues like the MkIII's were this could be a great camera.
The two issues I don't like.... I still don't get why Canon refuses to give its users true spot metering, even on the higher end bodies!? 3.8% is center weighted average at best, NOT true spot metering. And a massive jump in price, $1000 over the MkIIIs! .
P.S. I really like the two new RAW modes they added though, that is a superb idea, full resolution is NOT always needed! +1 for Canon on that choice. -- Images are Copyrighted and use is NOT permitted. |

| reply to mromero I'm impressed, would be cool to be able to wirelessly control the 5D MK II. The 1DMKIV looks sweet too but I won't be upgrading until I win the lottery.
Glad to see they are doing a firmware upgrade on the 5DMKII though I hardly ever used the video function of it. -- »www.jrslaterphotography.com/

Not too long ago it would have listed at $8,000, and even before that it would have been $12,000. I think I have seen some in the past go for $16,000 or more when launched. |

| reply to mromero the video on vicent la foret's blog is amazing. no external lighting used in the harshest of lighting conditions. The hybrid of video camera and dslr is definitely maturing quickly.

The MkIII was only $3999, I think, as Jodokast96 pointed out, you are confusing the 1D with the 1Ds.
Also the 24/25fps coming to the 5D is just the video, not the still shooting fps. But will also add 1080p as well. -- Images are Copyrighted and use is NOT permitted. |

Even then, I distinctly remember the MkIII being $3999 when it came out as I was considering purchasing one and almost did until I came to my senses, lol, and decided it was not worth wasting that kind of money on a camera body to me and I would wait for Pentax's release as it offered far more bang for the buck. . Had the camera been $4500, I would not even remotely have considered it a possibility if it was over $4K! -- Images are Copyrighted and use is NOT permitted. |
