IPv6 support has been available in many (most/all?) OSes since the *early* 2000s. And, for the ones that don't support it (why the hell are you, personally, running anything that old???), they can be gatewayed through devices that do support it (there's a great history of cross-type network gateways). As to legacy systems in the commercial and gov't space, they generally aren't connected to the public network space, at any rate, as they've gone WELL out of support for even routine security updates. -- The trouble with the world is that the stupid are cocksure and the intelligent are full of doubt. -- Bertrand Russell

IPv6 has been available for quite a while, now, at least as an activatable option, in most commercially used OSes. -- The trouble with the world is that the stupid are cocksure and the intelligent are full of doubt. -- Bertrand Russell
