I have the 15/2 package and I am maxed out at 3.4mbps. Anyone else having super slow speeds in the Dallas market? |

| Just ran a few tests and didn't experience a slower than normal connection. Could be localized to your node. Have seen this happen myself. Usually clears up within 24hrs.
If you haven't already done a power down and power up of your modem, then try that for now. -- We hang the petty thieves and appoint the great ones to public office. -- AESOP |

| reply to gary2381 I've been having the same issue on almost a nightly basis for the past month.
I'm in North Dallas, and during the daytime and late evenings I consistently have full 15/2 connection with no problems at all. However, between 7pm-11pm my connection quality is total garbage. 400ms+ latency, 20%+ packet loss and usually about 400kb/sec up/down. I tried calling RR for support, but the two times I called the tech didn't even attempt to troubleshoot issue beyond saying to cycle the modem and saying he would send a tech during the afternoon the next day. Which of course is useless because all is fine during the daytime hours. |

| reply to gary2381 Yes, same here! Between 7pm-10pm during weekdays and randomly on weekends (I assume when everyone is home), it maxes out at about 3Mbps. I'm paying for the 15/2 package also. The rest of the time, speeds are perfectly fine.
The tech that came out removed a filter and improved the signal marginally. It didn't help with the issue.
I swapped out my modem with Time Warner to a new one. Same problem.
Basically it's slow when all their customers are actually home from work and using their connection.
It's definitely a capacity issue. Call and complain!! |

most only have one 783MHz
TWC is working on it they are adding new CMTS's in certain areas. 2 so far.
They should add 789MHz to all nodes instead of a few. |

| reply to dallas214 Been having the same problems over in Dallas 75252. I have the 15/2 plan and during the nights and weekends only seem to get 3/2. Just spent 30 min on the phone with the TW techs the level one said it was not anything on my end and sent me up to the level 2 tech. The level 2 was no help at all during the time we were running tests my internet speeds went back up to 12/2 and that was after he had me un hook my router. The thing is its not my router because I ran the speed test again after that with just the modem on my pc and got lower speeds but this guy kept saying it had to be my router and that I needed to call d-link.
I am getting so fed up with all this crap TW has. The slow as hell internet for the last few weeks and the lack of HD channels is just about to get me to switch to uverse. It seems the TW network is not able to handle the new 15/2 speeds they rolled out. |

I'm in University Park and it's the same thing! Super slow during the evenings. Why am I bothering to pay for 15/2 when I get 2 or 3Mbps download speeds like I did in the year 1999?
My diagnostic page says it's running at 615MHz. |

All last night and early this morning I was only getting 3/2 and sometimes even slower. I was lagging a bunch off and on while playing CoD:MW2. Then around 4am the internet and tv cut off. So I called TW right away since I was so pissed and the automated system knew right away that it was down. The tv and internet came back up about 45min later and its been super fast ever since. Been getting 22/2 in speed tests all morning. I just hope it stays like this and that down time was for some sort of upgrade or service to the node.
Also 75252 is running on 615MHz. |

@rr.com | Seems much improved now. I was getting frustrated because it was stuck at 3Mbps at night for almost a month. |

I'm in Arlington. My wife and I have definitely noticed a slowdown since the speed "upgrade". We are on the turbo package as well.
SPEEDTEST.NET shows me maxing at 5 mb/s / 1.8mb/s. The "tech" I chatted with last night had me use the *internal* RR speedtest. How surprising (NOT) that is shows 13779/1745. I mean come on, measure ONLY in your internal network?? If you *don't* have it tweaked to perfection, it would be a disgrace. However, for REAL WORLD performance, how about testing against major destinations OUTSIDE your own network, as SPEEDTEST.net does?
No FiOS in my area, but definitely going to be investigating U-Verse now.
Any other potential service providers that I should consider?

That is the part that Roadrunner has control over when it comes to issues or slowdowns. Anything and everything can happen between you and those major destinations and there's little they can do to fix issues on other systems. |

Hey, I spoke too soon. Speeds are slow again tonight, roughly 2-3Mbps down max.
The INTERNAL speed test also shows 2.6Mbps down, 1.8Mbps up (»speedtest.texas.rr.com/).
The downstream frequency is still at 615Hz. |

it might change very soon they are moving five analogs to digtal.
47 363MHz 50 381MHz 61 447MHz 63 459MHz 73 519MHz
so there is possibly a reshuffle of the frequencies of digital channels and H.S.I/Phone when these move to digital. |

@rr.com | reply to gary2381 I hope it's soon. 11pm and it's still 3Mbps  |
