10 digit dialing would be more bothersome, but, as someone mentioned already, there are so many instances where you already had to dial 10 digits, that this is not really such a big change to me.

I know, I know.. showing my age again.. well when I was a kid, we didn't even have a phone in the house. We'd go down to a store to use a phone and instead of a dial, it had a crank. Turning the crank would ring the operator, who would ask for an exchange and city, ie., MU7 would refer to Murray Hill 7 prefix and then the local number. Murray Hill is a particular neighborhood in New York. Each area had it's own alpha-digit prefix code.

With my Vtech DECT6 and 5x cordless phones that only uses one jack makes it ideal! There have actually been 10-digit-dialed local calls for several years in the Hartford area, since Hartford can call Meriden locally. You dial 203-xxx-xxxx without the '1'.
Same here. I am so used to dialing 10 digits I do it out of habit with any number.
