Re: [northeast] Slow upload with 25/15 package

It's hardly fair to complain about losing fluff and only getting 16mb instead of the 15 you are paying for, no? If you aren't complaining, this didn't belong in a thread about slow upload speeds.

My reply was in response to the RWIN value needing to be one million which is not true.

I've done many installs with Vista, XP, and now six Win7 installs.
Those operating systems have no problem hitting FIOS speeds. No modifications are needed. I have never had any problem hitting the FIOS max speeds with virgin installs of those operating systems.

I was referrring to this comment specifically (quoting you here): "FIOS has also capped the uplaod speed in my area at around 16mbs instead of the 26mbs it was a month ago."

That would also explain a slow upload speed if someone was expecting 25/25 service like we used to have in my area for people subscribed to the 25/15 tier.

Yea I am not getting the 25 mb + I used to get and the QOS on the myspeed.visualware.com servers went from a constant 99% to 40% and 50% so yea I don't like it. Now I get 12 mb upload to 17 mb or even 18 mb if I am lucky. Might just drop to 15/5

Well at least mine is consistent at 26mbs down and 16mbs up.
I do wish they would offer those 35/20 tiers that they have in NY/NJ around the rest of the country.
I miss my 50/20 tier more and more every day now. But now that I'm on a bundle, there is no going back,

I dont get constant 16 down not even to ny or nj servers and it sucks cause its mostly 12 mb. Whats your upload QOS to the ny, and ct myspeed servers ?

Mine used to be 99% upload QOS every time but now its 40% and 50% so that shows something is wrong.

Mine used to be 99% also and now it is around 60-70% (not as bad as yours but still a comparsion). I still get fluff but not as much used to.

Darci thanks did the tests - Brett from the direct forum reprovisioned me and then I did your tests and also redid the Verizon Speed tests - now I am actually getting better than the 15 up all the tests showed over 20 on the upload ran all 3 of the verizon ones, so thanks again to all that helped

Sounds like trouble. Have you done anything to try to get it fixed?

Yes I just tried playing some games and I lagged really bad so I tested some things. I can ping myself from some websites and some had low ping under 20 ms and some over 200 ms that usually are under 30 ms cause I am testing local to see. I also have 2 connections at me house and I usually ping about 12 to 14 ms to my fios connection but I am getting 160 ms + so the routing is really messed up.

I see that you've had plenty of correspondence with the folks in VZ Direct, so there's not much more that can be done from this side. You say you connect direct to ONT, and have tried multiple routers, they replaced the ONT and the PON card. Only thing left, and maybe they've already done that too, is to switch you to a different fiber, in case there's a faulty light link somewhere.

Wish I could help. Sorry.
