How far am I from the DSLAM?

I sure hope I'm close enough for the 40/20 when it comes.

Here is my router details:

Max Allowed Speed (kbps): Down 20125 Up 828
SN Margin (dB): Down 3.40 Up 5.50
Line Attenuation (dB): Down 20.70 Up 10.00
CRC Errors: Down 12413 Up 35

Based on the downstream line attenuation, the line is about ~5,175 feet.

Based on what AMDUSER is saying, you aren't going to be able to get increased uploads on VDSL2, unfortunately.

With the SN margins you are reporting (3.40 Down, 5.50 Up), it's surprising that your connection isn't constantly losing sync. If you connect the modem directly to your NID, are the margins significantly higher?

I thought with ADSL2+ the lower the SN Margins the better? I'm having no connection or syncing problems. I haven't tested it at the NID as I thought my line looked good..

"With ADSL2+ an SNR of 6 is perfect, above 8 means the connection could go faster if the modem wanted, and below 5 means your modem has connected too fast and is at risk of dropping out."

Sorry, but you heard wrong. The higher the noise margin, the better.

Why are you quoting a inaccurate post made 4 Years ago in 2005 by a Australian poster in the Whirlpool Forum (who is in their forum's penalty box for some reason)? »forums.whirlpool.net.au/forum-re···t=433754

So what should I do? Bypass my home lines and run a homerun?
