| [AT&T] E71?
I'm SERIOUSLY considering buying an E71 in the next few days. Does anybody here have one? What do you think of it?
I know I could wait for the e72, but I spoke with Nokia this evening and they said AT LEAST Feb. Not waiting that long. -- Mom and Crockett...... I miss you both! |

| I got an E71x. I've had it for 2 months now, and really like it. Had to get adjusted to the keyboard, but after that, smooth sailing.
Also, there are sites out there to help customize the E71x, removing some of the AT&T bloat they put in. -- Perhaps TODAY IS a good day to die! Worf on the Defiant - ST First Contact Proud Host of Crunchie #2. |

| THANKS, Bought the unlocked one, so it's a straight E71, no at&t bloat to worry about. I ordered it last night, so I should have it in a few days. Looking forward to it....
I've been to many of the E71 sites, and I've read a lot, I just thought maybe someone here had it that could tell me as I trust the people here a lot.
BTW, the MAIN reason I got it was for the keyboard. -- Mom and Crockett...... I miss you both! |

| reply to Maccawolf I have an unlocked E63 (cheaper toned down version of e71).
I bought it primarily for real keyboard and wifi ability. The phone is solid - bought in call reception and wifi connectivity.
The only issue I have with phone is menus aren't as intuitive as on other phones. -- My heart is old, it holds my memories, my body burns a gemlike flame. Somewhere between the soul and soft machine, is where I find myself again |

Did you switch to just a ATT data only plan? How is it over ATT ? |

| I am using only wifi on it, as not only do I not HAVE a data plan, I am not interested in one. There is a built in wifi scanner. (will sniff out available networks by signal strength), and there are also several FREE wifi locator apps if the built in one isn't to your liking. I've only had mine a few days, so I have tried out the wifi a couple of times just for a lark, but I really have no need for wifi, as I have access to a computer most of the time. -- Mom and Crockett...... If you have no need for wifi - or a data plan, what do you need the phone for? Why not just get a cheapo phone? -- Procrastination is like masturbation. It seems like a good idea at the time, but in the end, you're really only f*cking yourself. |

I have an e63 and it is so much easier and quicker to use a full keyboard to text. I like teh tactile feel of a real keyboard. -- My heart is old, it holds my memories, my body burns a gemlike flame. | reply to Maccawolf Nice phone. I have one as a backup to my E75. In many ways the E71 is a better phone, I just prefer to have both the 12 key and the qwerty. When I get my N900, I'll probably sell the E75 and keep the E71.
It's super-easy to get VoIP over WiFi set up on your new toy, btw. (And there are a lot of neat apps like Qik or Sports Tracker that you can use without a data plan since you have WiFi) -- It's wierdo, not weirdo. Yes, I know that's not the 'proper' spelling of the similar english language word. |

While it's not the best browser in the world, it'll play youtube videos and the like, so you may end up using the browser more often than you think. -- It's wierdo, not weirdo.
