[ActionTec] actiontec (fios) and leviton 1000mbs

I'm looking at changing from DSL to verizon fios. I believe they mostly use the actiontec router. I already have a home network setup using leviton's 1000mbs router and switches.
It seems that if I switch to Fios, the only way to really make things work properly is to keep the actiontec as the primary router and disable the dhcp on my leviton essentially making it a network switch. The actiontec only supports up to 100mbps routing.

Does that mean my entire home network will then only run at 100mbps speeds?

If so, Is there any way to use the actiontec router to keep all the funtionality of Fios, but still use my leviton router to keep a gigabyte network for my home?

I'm a networking idiot and really appreciate any help!

one more question...

Would it just be better to get rid of the gigabyte router all together and just run a patch cable from the gigabyte switches directly to the actiontec router?
Would I essentially still have a GB network between computers and devices in my house if I did this?
