| 50mb download 5mb upload coming soon
Last week I went into my local Astound/Wave office in Concord Ca to pick up a DVR and noticed a sign advertising 50mb/5mb coming soon. I asked about pricing and when it would be offered? They didn't know.
For the past month my speeds have been really good during evening hours. |

I understand what your dealing with. I've been in the same boat for a very long time. A year or two ago I downgraded my service from 10mb down to 6mb down. It wasn't unusual for 1mb download evening download speeds with either plan.
They must have done some upgrades in this area because my evening speeds have been great for the past month or so.
My thinking was the 50/5 service level is good news, meaning they would be doing some system upgrades in order to offer that much speed. But what do I know?
Included are a couple of speed tests from August. Speed is much better right now. |

| Damn!! Congrats on the connection. Mine is usually pretty good but lately it has been pretty spotty at best. Sometimes it cruises, then it will crap out. Right now, it seems pretty good. I just hope that they can get back to the consistency they had a while back (at least in my area). |

| All I know is what I read on the sign in the Astound store.
After reading 50mb down and 5mb up is coming soon I decided to bump up my service to the fastest speed currently being offered which is 18/2. My upload speed has been testing faster then 2mb up. How long this will last, who knows. |

| Just ran a speed test. Wave seems to be generous right now, not sure this will last. I have 18/2 service. |

join:2001-11-08 Lacey, WA | reply to gtojim must be nice to actually have the network that can support your speeds, up here in WA everyone is using the same fiber backbone and its slowing down to a crawl like 2night its going from 3mbs to 5mbs when i have the 18/2 service. wave is unreliable! |
