In the US with a good connection you can stream 720p n/p or 1080p depending on the recording. The quality is great unless TW is having issues then the connection adapts and you see pixalation, however Road Runner has been solid in Albany for ten years at least. -- This is not the greatest post in the world, no, this is just a tribute!

so highly unlikely that TW is supplying you with that much speed... nor would netflix be able to upload that much to every single customer. |

Where did you get those fictitious numbers? The gold standard for 1080p is Blu-Ray which maxes out at 40mbps. Highly efficient codecs designed for internet transport can get a decent looking 1080p stream in under 10mbps. |

You are obviously not familiar with the concept of codecs and media compression. -- This is not the greatest post in the world, no, this is just a tribute!

Netflix Highest Stream Rate is 5500kbps for less than 100 titles, 2200kbps is the norm for the rest, which itself tells / means its no DVD subsitution. Unless Simulated stereo and "still picture" is all you expect.
I'm gonna continue to get my blurays from netflix and continue to never use their crappy quality stream. |
