[ON] it's official - Shaw buys Mountain Cablevision

It's official.

Shaw has finally given the green light by the CRTC to acquire Mountain Cablevision of Hamilton, Ontario.

After a short-lived lawsuit by Rogers (that was later quashed) earlier last month - despite the territorial agreement that was set back in 2000, Shaw can finally re-enter itself into Southern Ontario and acquire Mountain.

This is the first time that Shaw has re-entered back into Ontario.
The rest of Hamilton and area is covered by Cogeco. Now with Shaw's re-entry, it can focus to serve the customers of Mountain Cablevision better towards the future.

Where have you been; Shaw has been in Ontario for years. Now in Eastern Ontario. Game is on now!

Well Shaw as of now, has assets in Sault Ste. Marie and Thunder Bay. The last time that Shaw was in eastern Canada was back in the mid 90s to early 2000s.

With the acquisition of Mountain Cable, Shaw now gains a comeback.
