| Belkin N+ Router issues
i have a one week old belkin N+ router version 2000. Firmware 2.01.06. The router itself has very good signal and seems to work well when connected. But if i manually restart the router or the power goes off....its a heck of a time getting back connected. Its a 50/50 crap shot. I might be re-connected or the modem and internet lights keep flashing amber. If so i have to re-cycle to power to the modem and router one or a few times to get back a connection. This doesn't seem normal but maybe it is? common problem for this model and brand?
another issue, by using the built in check for new firmware from within the router and downloading version 2.01.07.....it will not upgrade, gives an error msg something to the effect of incompatible hardware. I really feel like returning this back to best buy.
I have an older Trendnet N router Trendnet 632/BRP which never reboots, never restarts....stays connected forever, but the signal is not that good to spread all over the house. I also tried a brand new D-link DIR-655....also had good signal, but the wireless portion would restart by itself whenever it felt like. This according to its own logs.
I'm not having too much luck. lol What should i do? |

| I had the same issue when I had a V1000 N+ router and my Motorola 2210 DSL modem. When I upgraded to my V2110 it no longer took so long to reconnect when I tested it. It also made a difference when I tried a Speedstream 5200 modem. Since you already have a V2000, I would say it is a compatibility issue with how it negotiates with your modem. Luckily the router is very solid and you won't be having it crash or restart on its own like the PIA DIR-655 that I also own/sold. The firmware upgrade is available on their UK website. For some reason they never updated the US website. Just do a search for Belkin UK and go to the support/download page from there. A tech told me they are re-doing the US website, but who knows. There are some other cool models available in the UK too that are not available here. They get all the fun. |

Thanks for the quick reply. Ya its weird, on the U.S. site, the firmware is not listed. But from within the belkin router firmware, the update button does find the updated firmware. Just won't upgrade, i'm waiting for a Belkin reply for this issue. I'm using a Scientific Atlanta 2100 Cable modem....which i bought instead of renting it.....standard issue here in Canada for Rogers Cable. After testing it some more, i have noticed that when i reboot the router and it doesn't connect. I can just unplug the cable modem wait a few seconds then power it on and boom the router might connect. Eventually when it does connect, its nice to get the full 10 MBit speed from rogers everywhere in the house, which i coudn't say before. |

@telus.net | I also noticed when doing a config change, then rebooting.. it takes some time to conect to internet....I downloaded newer firmware (.07)but 0 bytes. |

Wow V1 rock solid for me but there are different version of V1 though. I think mine is V1.21. I won't buy into the V2. V3 is more for standard N. Trendnet 652BRP is rated higher than Belkin N+ by 20% where it's 100%. Beats even the WNDR3700. Franklyn Trendnet has 400MHz /32MB of RAM. |

| I just picked up another V1 which I am using it as AP to help the first Belkin N+ V1 which is in my basement family room on the opposite side left of the house. This one will be on the first floor in the opposite side right side so all the connections will go from 120mbps to 150mbps at excellent. |
