Post your fun places to visit in the Northwest.

Mine is good old Snoqualmie Pass. Have not been up this year but hit the place every year straight from 1989 till 2000. »www.snoq.com/

We go camping every July 4th long weekend in Soldatna, Alaska on the Kenai River in a state park. Very simple get away but a beautiful place and the kids love it.

Timberline Lodge on Mt Hood. On a clear day, you can see all the old Cascade Volcanic peaks stretching south for 100 miles or more. That view always amazes me.

What's that little town in WA that thinks its a Bavarian Village? Is it worth seeing or just a tourist trap?

There's a similar "German" village in Georgia. Sure is funny to see the locals dressed in lederhosen, speaking with a Southern+German accent. I think its called Helen?

You're thinking of Leavenworth, WA. I haven't been myself but I'd like to go sometime. Even tourist traps can be fun if you don't get trapped

Cheers!

Never been up to the northwest but if I do I'd just love to see the scenery, never get to see that in L.A. It'd be awesome to just relax in a forest .

In Oregon:

Silver Falls State Park is a nice place to visit, it's near Salem. »www.open.org/~slvrfall/

If you're going to be on the coast, don't leave without visiting Mo's Chowder in Newport. It's the world's best clam chowder. »www.moschowder.com

We've also got one of those little towns that thinks it's a german village, the city of Mt. Angel. Home of Oktoberfest!

Haven't been to Whistler since the late '80's. The village was still tiny then. We spent NY's Eve in a pizza parlor, the only place we could find to get beer! I hear the area's been slightly enlarged since then , time to try it again. I did really like Vancouver alot. The Vancouver down here near Portland is not nearly as nice (ducking to avoid objects thrown by Vanc WA residents).

In Idaho, a good place to visit is Craters of the Moon National Monument. Just be sure to bring plenty of Water, Food, and Gas because it is kind of out in the middle of no where

Man I was in Whistler a year ago, and man.. its just amazing. I thought crystal was nice... Whistler is definitely the best place to ski/snowboard (snowboarder myself) in the Northwest.
