WHY do people feel the need to mess with success?
What the hell is the point of the Live News Feed and News Feed?
Am I just too dumb to figure it out? |

| reply to TurtleFan I hate the new format. I keep getting notices about what friends have friended whom and also email notifications "Stranger A just commented on Friend A's wall" when I have no idea who the hell Stranger A is nor do I care and I sure don't care that random people are writing on my friends walls or commenting on their pictures |

I actually like the change back. |

| reply to TurtleFan Much of the apps on FB are programmed in Ajax. I don't see the point of it, and it also seems that they haven't quite got the hang of it yet. Many of the functions simply hang, or produce an error. For instance, a friend request: one comes in the mail and you click the 'approve friend request' and it takes to to a FB page that isn't specific to that matter, and worse, it doesn't enable that person's request to be granted. Certain FB groups can't be joined either, because you only get the join popup when you LEAVE the page. How silly is that? Lots of frustration with FB over these inane programming flaws. |

I gotta agree here. I am amazed that a site so popular hasn't pulled in a team to get their shit cleaned up...their software sucks. Sometimes clicks just lead you nowhere, can't refresh a page for shit, it doesn't remember anything of where you were on a page, so if you're going through a lot of the stuff on your wall, follow a link, and then come back...guess what, back to the top of the page, and have to reload all the older stuff as you come to it at the bottom.

| reply to TurtleFan So does anyone really know what the difference is? I cannot tell for the life of me. You would think "live feed" might be simply newer posts but there seems to be stuff duplicated on both tabs.
The user experience on FB is HORRIBLE! Do they even do any kind of usability testing? What a tremendous concept but it could be SO MUCH BETTER. Factor in how bad some of the applications are too...they lock up all the time. I get that it is exploding but shouldn't you be prepared prior to rollout?
Oh well, it's free and you can host a lot of free content so who am I to complain. -- People who don't get good service on average tell 10 others while people who do get good service on average tell 1. |

| reply to TurtleFan Some tips I caught on the Facebook page of Brave Combo:
quote: Everyone who hates the new FB layout needs to know... there's an easy fix. -- On the menu at the top left, click on MORE. Then drag STATUS UPDATES to the top, above NEWS FEED. After dragging to top, click on it. That becomes ...your default
another tip says this: Click "more". Go down to "Create New List". Choose who and what you want to show up.

| reply to lotusracer That's useful (about drag and drop and changing defaults).
While I was in the 'more' view, I noticed a lot of junk like "lil farm' and social links.. is there a way to remove or delete those? I too am disgusted with the many "black sheep wandered into so in so's farm" messages. I joined FB for business exposure--I don't want all the junk. I'd have joined one of those other social networking sites if I wanted teenie-bopper toys and games. |

| reply to Omega I found the magic link for blocking Farmville:
I found it under Settings, Help.... block .. and then found a short list of messages where someone posted the link for blocking that app. It's a major generator of unwanted messages, so blocking it should result in a great deal more productivity with FB. |
