Frequent outages (multiple times per day)

I've had Phone Power for a short while (around 2 weeks). I was one of those switched over from Broadvox Direct.

A number of times it's happened that I can call people but they can't call me. At other times, people have been able to call me but I couldn't call them. And on a few occasions, neither can call the other (although I always get the dial tone).

The Internet works through the adapter. The lights on the adapter don't show anything as being wrong.

For most, if not all, these cases simply power switching the adapter fixed it. However, this is just a headache. Both yesterday and today it "died" more than once, and twice it happened in the middle of a phone conversation. I now have to randomly make calls from the phone and receive calls just to make sure it's working.

I'm told that people can't even leave messages for me when they can't call in.

My setup is cable modem --> adapter --> router --> computer.

I thought I'd post and ask here before elevating it to tech support. Thus far my interactions with them have been case by case, but it if it continues to happen and they don't view it as a deeper problem, I'll have to consider alternatives. I don't have a secondary phone that people can reach me on when this is down.

Did you try putting behind your router?
Phone Power probably has to change a setting to work behind a cable modem in your case. But I would try putting it behind the router first.
I am also one of the castaways too. In my setup I have Verizon fios and I have the Phone Power adapter behind my router going from the Router lan to WAN port of the PP adapter.

Not really - I consider that a last resort. I don't want to lose QoS...

But I would think it would just prove the the adapter works or not putting in back of the router. Just to try it.
I remember way back when with Broadvox I had issue getting the previous adaptor to work and They did some adjustment in the adapter to make it work behind the cable modem. Now that was back a 2-3 years. I thinking if you need to get it working they probably will have to do something behind the scenes of the adapter. I think PP now has 24/7 support so just click the support icon on their web page. it be interesting to see what the outcome is now.

Can you please PM me your account info and contact info so that I can arrange for one of our technicians to contact you for a resolution on this issue. Also, you never mention what callers get when they are not able to call you. Is it dead air? Are they transferred directly to voicemail? The more information I have up front, the easier it is to analyze the issue.
