All we can guarantee is best signal possible . 90% of the time this will give you the highest upload and download speeds and the lowest latency . However there are many factors involved that effect speed that we have no control over have . These factors are 1) How many T1 lines are run to the tower you are connected to 2) How many other users are connected to that tower 3) How are those other users using or abusing the available bandwidth 4) Overall Network traffic with your carrier

| reply to We No Speak The antenna is on the roof outside. The material is that corrugated exterior metal stuff for sheds, etc. I flattened one spot for best contact.
The only problem now is the speeds are worse, but the signal strength is much better [see image]

| reply to We No Speak For the benefit of readers, please be advised I am working directly with Maximum Signal for a solution to this issue. They have responded immediately to my issues and are conducting themselves with the utmost professionalism.
We are both scratching our heads at this issue and will be trying different tactics to improve download speeds.
Also, it should be strongly pointed out that the signal strength of the antenna and amp are clearly superior to the USB unit alone, so the product doesn't appear to be the issue.
will post back with an update...

| reply to We No Speak Hi Folks,
I'm posting from my laptop and don't have the test results from a late night speed test done on my PC, but one of those tests returned download speeds of over 2.0Mb's!!!!!
As of this writing, I'm on my MacBook in the San Francisco Bay Area and here are some of the speed test results.

I'm very happy with the antenna & amp, however there are still some puzzling anomalies - mainly that in some cases my upload speeds are faster than download speeds.
I've been in close contact with Maximum Signal about this variance in speeds and must give them 10 out of 10 for customer service.
Anyone else have a clue why I might be getting faster upload than download speeds???
Thanks,

I'm not sure what conclusion to draw, except the antenna/amp does indeed have better speeds, but it also has close to or better upload speeds.
My guess is that the antenna/amp is getting a better signal from the nearest tower and download speeds are affected by 'peak hours' traffic volume. Since most people download [not upload], it kinda makes sense that upload speeds would be more in line with the unit's capabilities. Also, using the antenna/amp during 'off-peak' hours would seem to support this conclusion, as indicated by the slow upload speeds with the USB unit alone.
I'm thinking at this point the antenna/amp works very well and tower traffic would seem to be the only limitation to 'my particular' speeds. Therefore, I would recommend this unit and Maximum Signal. Just make sure that you save your major bandwidth needs for 'off peak' hours.
Many thanks to all,
