 [Hardware] Belkin router not allowing internet access

Hi, i hope someone can help. I recently reformated my desktop PC running windows XP Pro. I have a Belkin router connected. When I reconnected my PC I could not establish an internet link with the router. I checked the router page on line and all was functioning fine. I also was able to connect to my laptop by wireless. All connections were good.
Any thoughts anyone?

That's a blatent lie

Sorry but there is simply no way in hell you were able to log into the routers page to see the configuration. Because you need an internet connection in order to log into the routers page, and when I plugged the router into the modem then plugged my computer into the modem (WHICH DISCONNECTS THE INTERNET UNTIL YOU CAN GET THE ROUTER WORKING)

I then type in the routers IP address and it tells me I have to be connected to the internet in order to access it.
