on a more serious note, you should probably go outside to your NID. open it up and you'll fine a small grey connector device in there (on the right hand side). its probably 2 1/2" x 1" x 1". take off all the connections to it. pry off the back of it and remove the henwey inside there.

The telegraph conversion machine does have a technician readout, but nothing that could be interpreted by mere mortals is contained within.

uh, I relented and called ATT... they claim it's a line filtering problem (the connection dropping out). Even though I've had it setup like this for 3 years, and this problem is not new, but hasn't been happening until about a month ago. Otherwise I'd say set up Logmein or some flavor of VNC on the host machine and remote in that way.

Although it allegedly supports remote admin, I'm not sure if the 4100 supports end-user remote admin.

I have a setup at home that I'm using to host. My DSL seems to die every 20 hours or so. No warning, no indication via LED's, just dead. The only way to get things working again is to turn off the modem then turn it back on.

This can be a pain, especially when I am at work. I'd like to find a way to get to the config page remotely. I can't find any straightforward way to do it. I tried setting up forwarding on my firewall, but since the config page and the rest of the lan are on different subnets, it's a no go.

I upgraded the firmware, (...53), but there still is no remote config option in router's admin page.

I would call ATT, but this has happened before, and I don't really want to spend 3 hours on the phone with them to tell me my Windows 98 is too new.
