[page error] Threads wrongly appear Unread

Screen snapshot above (of posts tagged Pets in Team Helix's forum) shows a small sample of threads I either started or was the last poster in. Have read them all and commented in most. But they're marked as if never read and don't have icons indicating I participated.

I checked without using the "Pets" filter. Other older threads mistakenly appear unread and not posted in as well.

Why might that be? (Haven't checked to see if the same thing happened in other DSLR forums.)

2nd edit to change Subject wording

It has. Here's a screen snapshot of a thread in THIS section that I started and posted last in. Sure can't tell it from the red envelope on the left!

Edit: Checked a few other DSLR sections. The site apparently doesn't recognize I've participated in or read ANY threads before late July. Red envelopes show for all.

The Post Tracker list of my posts looks okay except that my comments about photos in digital imaging all display red envelopes, too. Those posts seem to be managed as individual threads; I was the only participant in them.

This is not a site bug but more of a problem with your browser.

Try a different browser and it should correct things. Then you have to go and try and remember what you might have changed or done to your original browser that caused this problem. Or just reinstall the browser is sometimes the easiest solution.

The problem is at this site only.

Ok but did you try this site with another browser?

Sometimes wierd things happen and nobody knows why. If you can replicate this with another browser then it would narrow things down abit.

The display is wrong in Avant Browser, too. Default is Firefox v.3.5.4.

Very strange then..

I had basically the same thing that you are explaining happen to me once. My K-Meleon browser(basically a stripped down firefox) wouldnt show the threads properly but IE would. I had been messing with the settings in K-Meleon and no matter what I did I couldnt get it back to working properly. Reinstalling fixed it.

I still dont think it is a site problem but am out of any more ideas for you to check.
