Setting up a wireless network using multiple Qwest DSL lines

We're trying to setup a wireless network to work in my sons fraternity house. Qwest DSL 3M is the highest speed we can get so we had to get multiple connections to satisfy the need. We've setup four different Qwest modem/router in different locations in the house, but the walls are cinder block and the signal isn't travelling very far. Some rooms are getting service and some are not.

I want to add a range extender to each connection but I don't know if they will play nice with each other.

I was looking at the Hawking HWREN1

I was also wondering if it is possible to have all the routers use the same SSID. We're using the Qwest Motorola modem/router. We have them setup using different ones currently.

I've got a handle on my home network, but this is a little out of my league. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Qwest doesn't support MLPPP, so you're kind of stuck there. What I would do is setup an old x86 machine with something like pfsense and do load balancing. That won't allow one connection to get a whole 12mbit, as each TCP connection would be on a single connection...but it would work for what you need.

From there, I'd try something like a Ubiquiti Nanostation or a Ubiquiti Bullet 2HP for wireless. I've had good luck with the Bullet2HP with a 7dBi antenna in a cinderblock building. It's relatively cheap, about $120 for the access point and antenna, especially when you consider the transmit power (800mW!).

Hope this is of some help,
Nick

Here you can get routers that can load balance up to 8 WANs, wireless routers and range extenders. I am sure there are others.

You want UPM.

"Universal Repeater Mode
The Universal Repeater function could extend the coverage and signal strength for the current wireless environment. This standardized function is compatible with other wireless APs and Routers. Users can use this feature to build up a large wireless network in a huge space like airports, hotels and schools…etc."
