anamehere posted : Ok, I got the tunnel to connect.

I replaced the 2wire modem/router with a Motorola 2210 modem, then I also had to place the Netopia router into full bridged mode (i.e. put PPPoE on the VPN router instead of the Netopia).

Now I have a connected tunnel, but I'm at a loss as to what to do next. The PCs from either side do not see each other. One subnet is 192.168.2.1 and the other is 192.168.3.1, so I don't see how they ever could see each other, but the subnets must be different to get the tunnel connected in the first place. I've read about setting static routing, but I could not get that to work?

How do I make this work like one big happy network? If I need to do static routing, how do I set it up, it's confusing.

anamehere posted : I'm trying to connect our two offices with a VPN tunnel.

I bought two BEFSX41 VPN end points, and flashed both of them with 1.45.7, as I read in another post on this forum that that was the most stable. I then tested a tunnel between them by connecting an ethernet cable from two LAN ports of a third router into each of the BEFSX41's WAN ports, and the tunnel connected no problems.

I then tried to set them up, one at each office, and could not get a tunnel to connect.

Office A has a Motorola 3347-02 modem/router with a static IP.
Office B has a 2Wire 2701HG-B modem/router (no static IP).

The BEFSX41 connected to the Netopia I set up with the static IP in the BEFSX41's setup.
I managed to get the 2Wire to go into bridged mode (that screen is not easy to find) so that the BEFSX41 is now handling the PPPoE and getting the WAN IP.

Both get internet access no problem, but the VPN tunnel will not connect.

I'm thinking the problem is the 2Wire's firewalls are blocking the VPN since there doesn't seem to be any VPN pass through settings that I can find, and I'm guessing it's intended for basic home use. I'll try replacing it with a basic DSL modem tomorrow, but I was hoping someone might have some ideas as to why the tunnel will not establish, or confirm it is the 2Wire.

Also, I'm wondering if there's any settings I need to change on the Netopia 3347 to get it to work with my VPN end points.

Thank you for your help in advance.
