| DIR-855 To A DGL 4500? (Bridge Mode)
I've had to connect 2 routers up before and I remeber them connecting with any configuration what so ever.
I want to use 2 routers, the DIR 855 as my main router and the DGL-4500 as a 2nd router. Im running an ethernet cable from port from port 4 on my main router to the 4500.
I have no configuration right now on the 4500, its just as I left it. It says Im getting DHCP conflicts, and I can connect to the network, but I have no internet access.
I keep hearing about bridge modes, but I honestly don't know alot about it. What needs to be in bridge mode my main router or my 4500? Anyone have any advice on how I can my 4500 to work with the 855 as my main router?

| The dgl-4500 does not have a bridge mode and for a variety of reasons this model would not be a ideal bridge router. You can connect it up and have it extend your broadband connection wirelessly beyond your current router but beyond that you would have no device to device cross network connectivity whatsoever.

DHCP conflicts - have you tried making the 4500 on a different subnet? if both are on 192.168.0.1 - then that could be the problem. change it to 192.168.1.1 and see if that does the trieck. |
