Gov'ts don't have a great history of running successful private companies... |

 | reply to fAcEtIOUs Who needs proof? This is a discussion board!
Not that it couldn't be true, but I see all kinds of statements on forums with nary a bit of proof. The sad part is, so many people throw junk up there that it's hard to filter out the real info when it shows up. |

 | reply to ILpt4U It depends on what you call a 'company'. Look at the Interstate Highway System, Rural Electrification, Military. All of those are 'companies', and are run very well. The government is good at running things 'too big' for anyone else. The goverment SHOULD own all the copper/fiber, and rent it out to anyone who wants to sell the service. The advantage of that, is that EVERYONE would get fiber to the home, and broadband prices would be much closer to Japan (100mb/sec for $20.00/month) vs what we get now. Let the government run health care. I firmly believe that health care, housing, food are all BASIC human rights, and you can't ever outsource basic rights to for profit companies, because by definition, the corporation is NOT working for the customer, it's working for the shareholders. -- The happiest countries are the most secular. The struggle AGAINST corporations is the struggle FOR humanity! |

One might dispute that the Eisenhower Interstate System of Defense Highways are really that well run & maintained, but in general, good points made |

So by that logic the gov't should also pay for my house and all my food. Funny that you would choose two things the gov't doesn't pay for as reasoning why they should pay for the third. |

| reply to ISurfTooMuch I happen to use the same methods of acquiring information that chronoss2009 uses.
Through those methods I have ascertained that chronoss2009 's preoccupation with conspiracy theories is an artificial creation. This particular flavor of paranoia is a product of chemicals, developed by an independent contractor employed by the Trilateral Commission.
It is deployed into his body via combination of ingredients found in his toothpaste, cough syrup and jelly doughnuts. The dominance of one ingredient over another results in a shift in the focus of his attention.
The greater purpose is to to keep chronoss2009 's attention diverted so that he doesn't happen upon the triangulating links between the Federal Reserve, the Mary Kay corporation and Dogloo Inc.
If you aren't already thought controlled by WHO-AM in Des Moines you'll immediately recognize the truth of my extrapolations.
You're welcome.
