| qwest m1000 w/ BEFSR-8 ??
I did not set this up I am one who does not like 2 routers but its here and i can not figure out how to port forward
M1000 f/ qwest is ip 192.168.0.1 dhcp on dns is 192.168.1.1 (this i do not get)
BEFSR-8 is ip 192.168.1.1 dhcp on
the passworrd and qwest info for login is on both boxes and it works I am trying to port forward
I port forwarded port XXXX from m1000 to 192.168.1.1 then I forwarded the linsys port xxxx to the local ip of my security panel
what am I doing wrong? convince me, not to can the linksys and switch, and just replace them with a 16 port switch but then i would not learn something new today

| Put the modem into transparent bridging and let the router do all of the work.
First set up the lan ips for the modem and router so they are matching
Like 192.168.0.1 and 192.168.0.2
Then add the router ip .2 to the dmz zone of the modem. Switch on the transparent bridging under advanced setup > Wan setup.
Then go to your router and set it to PPPoE and enter your details. It should be fine. So now your dsl modem is just a modem and the router handles everything. In other words no more 2 routers. |
