Re: [Cable TV] Media Center/TiVo problems

Yeah it works with the new drivers now, it even auto detected! Sad part is I should have thought of that sooner, #1 this IS Windows we're talking about and #2 I'm a computer science major with a special focus on hardware and networking. (My college lets you specialize in certain areas of computer science as opposed to a general degree)
I have to ask this. How can you be a focus on hardware and not immediately go to the website to get the latest drivers? Hell I throw away any driver disks and go straight to the website at time of install.

yeah i know. my computer science class this semester is a class in VB6 (yes i know how old that is, it won't even run on win 7 natively, i have to use xp mode). I haven't had to do anything with hardware since we built our desktop hackintosh. Full time school and full time work and all kinds of all-nighters are really starting to have an effect on me.

Take the TiVo remote for example. Logic says that the LiquidTV installer would have installed the remote drivers for me automatically. HELL NO! I searched for hours online looking for these damn things and they were simply inside a folder (C:\Program Files (x86)\LiquidTV\Drivers)! Oh I was so mad when I found that out. Even after all this, I'm still considering a MCE setup down in our family room and ditching the crappy Pace DVR we're paying mediacom $20 a month for right now
