VWIC-2MFT-T1/E1 CONFIGURATION

I'm trying to configure the E1 card above to terminate DATA WAN traffic from the ISP. When i configure two channel groups i get an error

"Insufficient resources to create channel group"

It's my first time configuring an E1 for data (i'm familiar with voice). Can anyone point me to an online resource where i can get some material ?

cheers

What does your configuration look like?
If you could post a clean version
of your configuration, it would help.
If I can remember where my links are,
I'll add them here in a bit.

I've been doing this for some time now
for T1, I'm sure you just need to
account for the additional channels in
the E1 configuration.

The speed command also needs to be
set to 64 for data, as opposed to 56k
for voice.

As long as the "card type" command is
there and telling it, that it's in E1 mode
you should be gold.

Thanks Twister.

I think the answer is MutliLink PPP. Found a great post here

Ahhh.. I must have read your initial post wrong,
I was under the impression you wanted to
split the 24(t1)/31(e1) channels up into two
frac E-1's. I tried that on my vwic-2mft-T1/E1
and got the same message as you, when I tried
to break the controller down into a group of
channels 1-12 and 13-24.

If I had known you're wanted to do multilink PPP,
that would have been easy, as we're dong that
in quite a number of places. The only issue we
ran into with a few of our locations, is how the
circuit was designed by the local telco. The
result was having to mess around with the
clocking command.

Glad to hear you go the answer you needed.
