Re: CRTC finds that Globalive does not meet Canadian ownership

Kids will get to learn via "Captain Copyright" before any ACT of Canada. That is for sure. A telecom ACT would never make it on any curriculum unless you specialize in it.

In case anyone is wondering what/who Captain copyright is, refer to our most excellent Canadian teaching material that was tossed out to our children to better educate them:

"Industry Minister Tony Clement says the federal Cabinet will review a regulatory decision that prevents Globalive Wireless Management Corp. from setting up shop as a new national cell phone company.

The Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission ruled Thursday that Toronto-based Globalive isn't Canadian-owned and controlled, putting its planned launch in the coming weeks in doubt.

Mr. Clement says the government believes in competition in the telecom industry."

500 jobs. Most of them in a conservative riding. You bet that the goverment will move quickly.
Globalive didn't make an appeal to the cabinet yet and the minister is ready to find a loophole for them.

"Mr. Clement says the government believes in competition in the telecom industry, and are doing their utmost to put an end to such a disgraceful belief."
