2 edits | [Connection Sharing] Looking for new wired router help
My D-Link EBR-2310 I think is going bad. its been dropping my connection big time for the last month or so. looking for a new wired router and I'm willing to spend to get a good one. Any help would of course be appreciated from the fine folks here.
My network setup is as follows:
Main PC
XBOX 360
PS3
HDTV
HD DVR
Gaming Laptop (on order and has not arrived yet)
I already have a 5 port switch so I'm good there. Also of note is the laptop will have win7 home premium on it, but my main PC will still be XP home SP3 for the time being.

Only one available from them that is a wired gig for home/small business user. This is what it looks like.

All metal case not plastic so these type tend to last longer than all plastic versions.

Very basic, but it got the job done. Amazon has this on sale but last week it was $52 and I had discount with them so it would cost me $49 with free shipping. The next day when I go to order it and it shot up to: $102..
Good luck and report how it goes with it.. I already use Trendnet for my 8-port Gig 144KB packet buffer and fast 16-port business switches 1.5MB packet buffer. No issues
I hope the above goes on sale again! |

4 edits | Hello again, I realize I said I wanted a wired router and im still leaning towards that. However, I found a few wireless routers that also have a Giga WAN in addition to Giga LAN ports. Still leaning towards the Trendnet router, however, wanted to throw two wireless models out there to get your feedback one more time before I decide what to buy. Thanks!

WNDR3700 comes in at 86% out of 100%
Belkin N+ comes in at 82% out of 100%
DIR-825 B1 newer you might want too look out for that one!
I use the Belkin N+ (Gig + Storage Router) Wireless 802.11n. LAN/WAN pretty fast and the wireless suppose to cover 1,200 feet (400 feet) really strong.
Now if you need dual 2.4GHz and 5.0GHz for wireless then the get WNDR3700. Belkin N+ is only 2.4GHz.
Then there is the Fonera 2.0N it has the same RAM in the WNDR3700 but 1/2 the CPU, but the USB suppose do it all where all the other N routers fail. It doesn't have Gig tough.
