 | Stop raising prices $10 every year I remember when their 5/2 package was $39.99 now their cheapest speed tier is $54.99 if you don't have a Vz landline or a bundle. |

Cogdis join:2007-03-26 Floral Park, NY 1 edit | I think that was the biggest factor. It seems to me that MOST people are happy with their Cable service. When Fios introduced the new plans, non-power users (the vast majority) ignored the increased speeds, but not the increased price.
I see no reason for anybody to go through the hassle of switching and installation if they feel like they're already getting good service for the same (or less) money.
As time goes on though, the average internet user will need more and more bandwidth. Eventually Verizon's increased bandwidth WILL be the difference maker and then Verizon can gouge us all they want. |

 | reply to Assault You neglected to add that the cheapest speed tier is now 20/5 in most areas. |

 | reply to Assault that is funny. i am not far from you at all. I still have the 5/2 package. I was one of the first to sign up for this in our area and never took the bait to upgrade. I need stability and the low latency of fiber, not speed, so 5/2 is more than adequate for me.
On the rare occasion I have to call in to Verizon, I can always expect a weird long pause when they get ready to pitch me their new cheap offer, then review what i currently have. They can not get anywhere near my price of 39.99
I think I have had this about 3 years now and the one time I mentioned wanting my pricing lower they firmly said 'we not longer off that package or anything at that price point'. |
