 | I live in a neighborhood that was built in the 1920s. The techs absolutely HATE to come out here because the wirining to the homes is old (paid for by the taxpayer, BTW) and there are lots of big ol' trees. There is no commitment by the telco to maintain the copper.
The first thing I have to do is insist that any problem is not in my house and is exhibbited at the NIB. Wiring inside my home is new and electrically solid.
When you schedule an appointment with Verizon, you get to select the day they will come (8 hour window), and yes you need to be home, and they don't come on weekends. I've experienced two no-shows on this, BTW, taking days off of work. Absolutely TERRIBLE customer service in my area. I understand that in other areas it is a different storry.
I have no big love for Comcast because they charge through the nose, but the last time there was an issue, a tech was dispatched on a Sunday morning with a two hour window.
So, it would be nice to have a competitor for: expensive cable cruddy DSL |
