I think that was the biggest factor.
It seems to me that MOST people are happy with their Cable service. When Fios introduced the new plans, non-power users (the vast majority) ignored the increased speeds, but not the increased price.

I see no reason for anybody to go through the hassle of switching and installation if they feel like they're already getting good service for the same (or less) money.

As time goes on though, the average internet user will need more and more bandwidth. Eventually Verizon's increased bandwidth WILL be the difference maker and then Verizon can gouge us all they want.
