 [seeking] Audio Streaming Hosts

I am looking for suggestions on a streaming audio host, multiple streams.

NO interest in video

NO windows servers

This is strictly audio that will be streamed at low bit rate stereo, 32-64K stereo streams, as the stereo channels allow for 2 channels per stream. User select the channel via balance control.

MP3 format and OGG support

Looking for hosts which have good support for the "management" of the server to add new users who provide the streams, disable streams, etc...

I don't want to provide a lot of details in public about the streams, other than this is NOT music, thus the various issues with royalties etc. are not applicable. Nor is any encumbered audio of any type. I've done this myself with own connection etc. but to do this for multiple sources and more users it needs a streaming host.

Stream providers need to be able to use the WinAMP DSP streamer plugin, Spacial Audio broadcasters

If you need more details I will provide them via PM.

Any reason you aren't just using the free Winamp Shoutcast DSP plugin that was built for this?

Anyways, you need to look for a Shoutcast host, or depending on the number of slots you need, it may be cheaper to purchase a VPS or cheap dedicated server.

You could also go to one of the popular CDN's as most of them provide streaming services.

Have you considered a cPanel host with WHMSONIC?

Sounds like that's what you could be using for this.

The stream provider can use anything thats compatible with the host with the exception, of there will be no WMA, WME, or any thing else win related supported.

Using other streaming encoders allows for certain features to work, that only work with that particular broadcaster. Unfortunately the author(s) of this specialized interface do not wish/choose/or can not support the WinAMP DSP for this one feature, which while not required... if its not present creates a lot of whining from the "me generation."

I am looking for suggestions on the hosts... There just too many scams on this stuff floating around with people offering unlimited bandwidth, slots, etc.... Then all you get is "buffering....drop outs, garble...etc..."

I am looking for input on host that work, reliable, and offer what they advertise.

Looking to start small 2-3 streams then add more as needed.
