1 edit | OK, I'll be as basic as I can and hope not to confuse you
Basically, the P2302 and your TP-link are both routers trying to do the same thing. If you plug one into the other it won't work right by default. You first need to tell your P2302 to behave as a 'client' on the network (like your computer). That way it will join the network created by your TP-link router and it won't try to create a network of its own.
Don't plug your 2302 into the TP-link router to start with. Power up your 2302 and connect your computer to it directly. You'll need to run an ethernet cable from your computer to the LAN port at the back of the 2302.
Next, boot up your browser and access the settings page (192.168.2.1 possibly? Check the manual). There is a setup wizard if I recall. You only need to get to the part where you select how the 2302 behaves on the network. The magic setting to look for is "DHCP client". Save the settings once you've changed that.
Unplug your computer from the 2302. Reconnect your computer to the TP-link router, the way it was before. Power off the 2302.
Next, plug your 2302 into your TP-link router. The ethernet cable runs from the WAN port on the 2302 to one of the LAN ports on the TP-link. Power up the 2302.
Now access the settings page for your TP-link router. I'm not familiar with those routers, but there will be some status screen that shows a list of clients attached to the router. One will be your computer. Your 2302 should now also be on that list.
Make a note of the 2302's network address (it should be 192.168.x.x, for example 192.168.1.35). Type that address into your browser. From there, you should be able to access and set up the 2302. |
