Cora posted : Hello Darcilicious,

I was dozing off and on while watching one of the old movies on Epix, or should I say while it was watching me. A few times when I opened my eyes, the movie had stalled. I have 7/768 so I thought perhaps my connection was not fast enough. But with a connection of 25/25 that certainly should not be happening.

No matter, I have enough streaming websites without Epix to keep me happy. :)

Cora

darcilicious posted : Re: EpixHD.com -- the streaming quality is AWFUL. I have a 25/25 connection and the stalling/stuttering was unbearable. And even when the streaming was smooth, the overall quality was subpar.

Cora posted : Today I received a tweet from Mashable regarding 10 Horror Movies Which Can Be Watched For Free. I watch a great deal of internet tv and thought it was probably a site I knew; not.

There is an internet tv website call Internet Archieve, which along with Mashable, has also received good reviews from WOT site advisor. It appears this website contains movies which are in the public domain, much like Goggle movies.

The Internet Archieve can be found at: »www.archive.org/index.php

Then there is a new internet tv website called EpixHD which hopes to go toe to toe with HBO. (I also received a Tweet about Epix from Mashable.) For now they are offering premium HD movie service to Verizon FIOS premium internet tv and tv service customers. (EpixHD: »www.epixhd.com/)

This weekend Epix offered free viewing of thier movies to anyone requesting an invitation. Their website displayed great movies in HD, so of course I requested an invitation.

What a rip off! All those movies I hoped to enjoy were not available to weekend guests like myself. In fact 90% of the movies available this weekend, I own on video cassette which I hope to give away before I throw them away. The nerve!

EpixHD are now attempting to get people to follow them on Twitter by offering a 30 day pass to 200 people. I signed up. :p
(EpixHD Twitter: »twitter.com/EpixHD) They continue to offer free weeknend passes.

It has been some time since I checked in on Joost, my first internet tv experience. I think I will stop by and say hello.

Another website which shows good old movies:

Horror and Sci-Fi at Google (vampireBat; The Ape; MonsterMaker; and Sherlock Holmes)

»video.google.com/videosearch?q=t···=2&emb=0

Google video has many good full length movies, unfortunately now they are mixed in with Youtube's shorties. However, while you are on the Google video website, search for Retrovision media, Retrovision theater and Retrovision movies
