Re: Shutting of my iPhone Remember to turn on airplane mode, or it will continue to power the cellular part SIM inserted or not. Wifi & bluetooth work while in airplane mode. You can also get a blank SIM in case you ever want to make emergency calls, all other cell features would be disabled in that case. iPhone i believe comes with a blank SIM for this very reason. Also remember that GPS won't work because it needs a data connection & wifi isnt very useful out on the road.
