They don't even begin to compare to the others like HBO, but want to charge that premium fee.

$10 for one HD channel is crazy, and then when that channel butchers many of the movies by cropping them, $10 is just absurd!

I dropped Cinemax (which I was not watching) and added EPIX. This amounted to a wash.
Maybe because I am older (65) Epix seems to offer more of the movies that are of interest to my wife and I. We can always switch back later if this does not prove to be the case.

I voted NO.

Epix originally said they might be offering movies early in the viewing window, prior to being made available on DVD. I might subscribe if new movies were available on Epix a month after they finished their theatrical run, months before DVD release.

I don't see that many customers paying $10 for what we seem to be getting. You can rent 10 new movies from Redbox for the same price. My guess is Epix will wind up being included in one of the packages or the channel may just disappear altogether.

Let me get this straight... Iron Man as an example is available to watch instantly online, but is only available on the channel via a schedule and is not available via the epix on demand?

Retarded.

Iron Man on EpixHD VOD was available at one point because that's exactly how I watched it about week+ ago.

The Iron Man 'HD' vod was crap. I was 2 channel audio, and it definitely wasn't 720p. The preview didn't help their sales.

Weird when I looked for it this week it was no where to be found....

I will say this, VOD availability of variou TV episodes (and perhaps certain movies) has been sporadic over the several weeks. I'm not sure what's going but some VHOs are getting updates more regularly than others.

But it would seem that Iron Man in particular has been removed from VOD recently; I just searched and it's not there any more

Since I sub to Netflix, I have no need for this channel.

My feeling as well, but I would probably swap my HBO/Cinemax/Movie bundle for HBO/Epix/Movie.

Same here... . Through netflix I had already received and watched the BluRay of Iron Man, Indiana Jones, The Duchess, The Pink Panther 2, Drillbit Taylor, etc. No way I'm paying extra for this crep!

Well, after roughly 24 hours the vote is 105 'no' and 2 'yes.' If that sampling is any indication EPIX doesn't have much of a future at 10 bux a month.

It may be interesting, though, to see how subscriptions play out in the real world compared to how readers of this forum voted. I sometimes wonder how we compare to the rest of the population out there.

Does anyone know how long the free preview will last for EPIX? I recorded a bunch of movies over the weekend, not knowing if the preview would last much longer.
