| [Help] Belkin N wireless - Virgin - Disconnections
Hi there,
I know that lots of people already had this problem and posted it here, I used some advice but it still going on.
So I'm in a flat shared with 3 others people and we have lots of random disconnections.
When I check on the security log after being disconnected I often see this kind of messages :
quote: 11/01/2009 15:53:43 DHCP Client: [WAN]Receive Ack from 62.31.64.116,Lease time=370077 11/01/2009 15:53:43 DHCP Client: [WAN]Send Request, Request IP=92.236.29.10 11/01/2009 15:53:43 DHCP Client: [WAN]Receive Offer from 62.31.64.116
quote: 11/01/2009 15:45:30 **Smurf** 222.139.72.0, 30011->> 92.236.29.10, 7210 (from WAN Inbound) 11/01/2009 15:45:24 **Smurf** 222.139.72.0, 30011->> 92.236.29.10, 7210 (from WAN Inbound) 11/01/2009 14:43:06 **UDP Flood Stop** (from WAN Inbound) 11/01/2009 14:43:06 **UDP flood** 192.168.2.4, 64737->> 58.146.147.176, 14614 (from WAN Outbound)
We first replaced the router for another but it's the same thing... I updated the firmware (F5D8233-4v3(01) Version 3.01.29), I restored the factory defaults settings. Also, when it disconnects, Winodws Live Messenger always indicates me that it comes from a DNS problem, so I tried to put a manual DNS adress instead of the "automatic from ISP" in the router set up but it does nothing.
We called the customer service, of course they don't say it could come from their network, they said it could come from someone who downloads or plays on-line, which is not our case ( or sometimes few downloads but disconnections arrived also when we didn't download since few days...so it can't be the reason!)
Oh and I did a line quality test maybe it could be useful for you to know whether it's ok or not ( I don't know how to interpret the result). Line Quality Test
If you need more information to be able to help me, don't hesitate to tell me
PS: I'm French so I'm sorry if I'm not really comprehensible |

| You all play online gaming with other online users or do you all play games with each other then with online users? Any firewall use on the systems? The Router is picking up attacks on the WAN side these Belkin has firewall features Dos, PoD, ICMP, NAT, SPI for defense. It's blocking these access though. |

| reply to tonyff9 No we definitely no play on line games
Regarding to the firewall yes I suppose there is one with the router... And for the ICMP, I know that the router blocks them ( I remember I had to untickle the option when I wanted to do the Line Quality Test...) |

Yes but are you running any other software firewall on these systems.
That attack is coming from:
Reverse IP Lookup - 58.146.128.X City / Region / Company: Singapore Country: Singapore
Map location on World Map »maps.google.com/maps?f=q&hl=en&z=7&q=1,104
Which PC on your network has this port redirected or port forwarded to this IP address on your network:
192.168.2.4, 64737
You need to block that connection or close down that port On your software firewall. If you're using Windows Firewall put a rule in there for local access only not wide open to the internet. |
