1 edit | Constant Disconnects
Greetings all,
I have been with Bellsouth.net now AT&T for a long time. Always been happy with there service but as of late I have issues...
Last week was very slow download speeds which they repair something on there end and all was fine..So I thought. Now my modem disconnects and reconnects to the internet every few minutes (See log at end of post).
I called AT&T and the did some tests... They then transferred me to there phone side of the house where I was told nothing other then it would be looked at no later then Monday 5PM...
Here is my log, Could someone look this over and tell me what they think?
Thanks

| You are losing sync.
It could be a physical line problem (either in-house or on the telco side of the NID).
It could be a problem with the DSLAM.
If you have standard line shared DSL, it could be a faulty filter/splitter or faulty telephone (or other analog device).
It could be your modem.
You might want to check operation at the NID to eliminate inside wiring or a telephone as the source of the problem.

Other than that, since the problem could very well be a physical telco line problem, wait for the AT&T line tech to check things out on the AT&T side and see what happens. -- History does not long entrust the care of freedom to the weak or the timid. -- Dwight D. join:2004-01-17 Macon, GA | reply to MaGillaGorilla I'm getting constant disconnects in Macon. It's gotten some better as of late, but the internet light will just go off.
Funny..while typing his message it went off and came back on again. | | tel601
join:2005-08-11 Picayune, MS | if it is just the internet light going off on the modem, then make sure the modem is set to always on. This will keep the modem from disconnecting when it sits idle | |
