| Slow Speeds
Kinda lost as to what to do. Tested speed a few minutes ago 175 down 298 up. This has been going on for months. Called sales to possibly upgrade my service and no can do in my area. Tried tweaks, etc.
Have been with dslextreme over ten years and just signed up for another year and am not going for the penalty to dump it.
Tech support is not any help, maybe document it and what? go to court.
Any suggestions?

| Hi debco99 -
If you are getting slow speeds it is typically due to a problem on the phone line itself between the modem and the phone companies central office. It it was working for for quite some time and started acting up we usually find it is due to a new device (phone, fax machine, TV receiver, alarm system) that is placed on the phone line that isn't properly filtered. How many devices do you have connected to the phone line? Do all of the devices have filters on them? Is your modem plugged directly into the wall jack? How long is the phone cable between the modem and wall jack?
Has a Telco technician been dispatched out to your location to test your line?
Thanks -- George General Manager DSL Extreme Will work for reviews. |

Maybe a bad filter?
