I'm not going to comment about the single player until I play it myself, so you may have a very valid point there.
The game does have co-op now which is nice for those who don't enjoy adversarial multiplayer, would be nicer if it was the four player standard instead of just two.
As for the adversarial multiplayer (this is from the 360 perspective, PS3 users will have to chime in if their experience has been otherwise), it will be the same matchmaking service that I've enjoyed for the past two years so no step back there (yes p2p style), on the positive there will be host-migration. While you perceive as a setback most gamers welcome this since most host problems are just from the host quitting out of the game. As for the playlists they are just sets of different gametypes, ie deathmatch, ctf, headquarters, etc, and they're used to find rooms of people ready to play that gametype.
On the 360 the max of 18 players (upon rereading your post a few times I take it the PC max player count is considerably higher) is being bumped down to 16. This affects one playlist, and it's one of the less popular playlists, I don't think there will be outcry over this, for the 360 players I mean, I can understand otherwise if the PC player max was much higher. Also, the majority of gametypes only allow 12 players max on the first MW, and I suspect that it will be same in this next one, so may find yourself even more limited now if the PC version is done up the same way.
I'm sorry to hear that IW is gutting the PC version and managed to tick off the PS3 gamers and I agree that IW is making a very stupid decision here. Hell I noticed they were making bad decisions even earlier when they didn't have a large scale multiplayer beta, not enough to keep me away from it though. As for the pirating business, seems like most of the major releases are being leaked out early so people with modded 360s can enjoy the campaign early and for free. Which is where a lot leaks like the video in the op come from, still haven't watched it since I don't want to be spoiled any further. I hope the whole lot of them get detected if they try to play while connected to XBL.

I believe the earlier versions of COD (PC) supported up to 32 players max, maybe more, don't recall.
I may be getting a PS3 soon, few of my buddies got one recently and are nagging me to get one. I'm just sad that IW did this to the COD series. |

Call me a "sheep" if you must, but I continue to play COD4 on my Xbox 360 almost nightly, and, shockingly enough, it's still fun as hell.
I play a video game if it's fun...I couldn't give a rat's ass about "Crappy developers" or whether or not a game was "made" by PC gamers.
I preordered MW2 and will be picking it up next Tuesday. Most assuredly, it will kick ass and I'll be playing it online for some time to come. Why? Because it is fun.

I'm still confused as to why all of this PC talk is taking place in the Console forum.
And leaning? That wasn't in the console version of MW. I hate to be a buzzkill, but IW made most of their money with the console version of MW, and as such, have every right to dedicate most of their time to perfecting that version of MW2.
So, you have 2 options. You can boycott the game for PC because you feel it's the "right" thing to do, or you can buy the game for a console and join in the fun with the rest of us. |

Every product will have their naysayers and fan boys. That is what is great about money. You dictate what the developers will do. If IW thought the best route would be to develop to what the consoles bring to the table, then they have all the right to do that. If the PC players don't want to support them for what ever reason, then so be it! Don't buy it! That is your choice. My choice is to buy this game..just traded a few more games today and paid the remainder. At $59.99 a game, that is the normal price for any console game unless it's used. So most of us are used to that.

Only issue I see is with XBox Live's network, since it is a subscription service I imagine they want to be segregated? |

I actually enjoy the PS3/Wii/Xbox competition as IMO we end up winning when the competition is at its highest
One drops price, the other does
