If either of these are not seated correctly, the system may 'power' but thats about it. maybe something didn't get hooked up correctly at the factory or something came loose during shipping.  <br><br>outside of that, if you don't see any obvious reason for the system not starting, contact dell. <description><![CDATA[Moropo posted : My dad bought a new dell and asked me for help setting it up. I have connected everything etc, power on the PC, power on the screen and I get a message saying "going to sleep". If I touch any of the buttons on the screen it gives me the message that it is not receiving any signal.<br><br>I have tested the screen with another PC and it worked fine.<br><br>When you power on the PC, by the sounds of it, it sounds like everything is booting correctly, not beeps etc. This is a new PC just out of the box.<br><br>Any help?<br><small>--<br>"The physicists defer only to mathematicians, and the mathematicians defer only to God ..."<br><br>I'm a Mathematician, not an Arithmetician.</small>]]></description>
