|  [HELP] Cisco newbie 871w configuration help
Hi,
I'm fairly new to the Cisco world and still trying to understand concepts. I have a Cisco 871w wireless device that I need a little help configuring.
What I have is Comcast cable internet that connects to a smoothwall firewall. The firewall has DHCP for the 192. private green network. This network I prefer to keep untouched as it works perfect.
What I would like is to have to the second network DMZ (orange) 172. connect to the Cisco 871w device. What I've tried is to have the DMZ from the firewall connect to FE 4 WAN. Don't know if this is the correct way to do this? Gateway of firewall = 172.28.1.1/24 connecting to FE 4 WAN 172.28.1.5/24. In this case from the firewall I can ping 172.28.1.5, but I can't ping the gateway 172.28.1.1 from the 871. Should I be trying to configure it like this? Or a regular non WAN port?
Eventually after I configure the 871 and the firewall I would like to have FE 0 hosting a server that has a static 172 address. Will I need static routes, vlan etc. in order to get the server going?
I really appreciate any help, or a point in the right direction. I seem to be a little lost and could use some help in this configuration.
