| DSL I hear? o.o
Hey all, I have been using AOL's dial-up for around 9 years and I am quite aggravated. I finally decided to switch to satellite highspeed and go with Hughes Net. I just got it installed last week and went with the Pro plan of 1.2MB/s and 300MB daily limit. Sounds well but I like to game and having 1-3 seconds behind real-time is quite ridiculous. So I really want to quickly find another ISP within my first month of Hughes Net when I can still cancel. :P
With this I went on another search for a better ISP and found about Mcom. The site and the reviews I read were spectacular. The only thing that I am worried about is the limit of 5GB per month if I don't have access to a Sprint tower.
Questions:
- How am I to properly check if my house is able to reach a Sprint tower?
- With Verizon, what is the consequence to going over the 5GB monthly limit? (fined? dail-up speeds?)
- Can anyone post a quick summary of the process of going with this ISP? (like required devices etc.)
(May add more)
Thanks ahead of time.

If you are in a Sprint covered area the best value is the BYOD plan, whereas you buy a modem/aircard with a clean and free ESN from eBay.com.
Suggested devices are Sierra Wireless Compass 597 or 598, or Novatel Ovation U727 or 760.
You then fill in the BYOD form at Millenicom's site and in an hour or so they will indicate your device is activated and send the activation numbers.
Install the connection manage software, plug in the device, and you're on your way. -- ... need help? »evdo-tips.com/ |

| reply to Oscar August Oscar, as Jim said.
If you have coverage, I think you will be VERY satisfied compared to Hughesnet.
In fact, there were times I would have gladly traded Hughesnet for a dial up account if I could have gotten more than around 18-20K connections on our phone lines.
Millenicom has made it so that keeping my internet connection up and running is no longer my hobby -- A happy customer of Millenicom.com - so far. |
