kudos:12 | Yawn In speaking to my ILEC when they rolled out IPTV, they actually said that TV over DSL just wasn't reliable enough and in their trials, had way to many problems so (wait for it) they are running fiber to all new IPTV customers.
When your sole purpose is not to please shareholders, great things can happen. |

San Antonio, TX | In newer areas, AT&T is running FTTP. But they are also offering the service in areas that have FTTN but copper to the premise in which line lengths are low and conditions are good.
I'm in one of these FTTN areas and U-verse is great. I'm a bit worried about headroom--how they are going to offer more services in the future to customers like me who have copper on the last leg of the signal. But right now, it's a great value for what I pay. |
