| Can't get DSL even though the box is setup. Clover SC
I have lived in my location now for almost 5 years and we still cannot get DSL even though AT&T has installed new boxes up and down hwy 55 east. My neighbor is in the same situation. An installer even said he would have her set up in no time. He ran the line to the house but The switch is not active at the main box. He called his supervisor and they said they would not connect any more DSL customers until U-verse comes online even though there are plenty of open ports to provide her home and mine. This just makes no sense!!! Why will they not hook us up when everyone around us already have DSL capabiliy and we are the only 2 that don't? The box is new and state of the art!!!!
It almost seems political. And of course you cannot get a hold of anyone to give you a straight answer. I cannot get passed tier 1 support! |

| If the new equipment is for DSL and people in your area already have DSL, possibly they've added ports and because of some other problem involving Uverse, they haven't got the equipment turned up. It's a little more than flipping a switch to turn up a DSLAM. Right now, Uverse seems to be driving the car and DSL is stuck in the back seat.  |

| Thanks tel. It does appear that the uverse is driving the process. I just need DSL and it is frustrating. I know that uverse has been activated in other parts of Clover as well as Lake Wylie. Hopefully soon they will be activating my area.

Clover, SC | What Tel said is correct besides they are putting so much effort into uverse there isnt much left for DSL. I know they are laying new fiber down 49 in the lake wylie area (but not into my neighborhood ... grrrr) |
