I ran the following Speed Test today while at a BestBuy store:
As you can see the upload speeds are really really bad. I hope they do something about this soon. Also, I have no idea how they can provide VOIP services with Line Quality results rated at a C. They really need to fix the upload problem or they will continue to recieve negative reviews their customers.
In Detroit, we have a local wimax provider who is positioning their product against a T1 and even offering VOIP over it. I guess the devil is in the details (implementation). I'd also think that a 166ms ping time would knock VOIP out of the box. I've done it at upto 350ms from abroad, but it wasn't business quality.
reply to morgan1112 I had better luck with the upload, though I am in Chicago. The Pingtest was better as well, though i had to select a server in chicago.
