| We need more information. If you are looking to control a single furnace with two thermostats the big issue is what you can control separately to be able to use two thermostats. What are you trying to do? -- Simple rules - no offsides, no intent to maim, everything else is all good! |

| Correct but I assume he wants zone control
it will cost him

| reply to morpheus6d9 I am interested in adding a second thermostat. I have central air and heat. Brand new with the 5 wire type of thermostat.
I am looking to add a second for a few reasons. One, to turn the blower on/fan on at night time. I do not want it to run all the time but would like a timer to kick it on at certain hours to circulate air.
Second would be for say the second floor. Basically one would overtake the other. If one switches on the heat then it overtakes the one that is just running the blower.
I have had trouble with this one because I am not sure if they must run in series or combined. Combined, it does not work... the blower just runs or the AC compressor will just kick on. |

| I read the circuit diagram, etc. My only try was to get the blower to kick on when I wanted to based on a timer.
It is my $8,000 unit, I can do what I want But it was more a researched experiment.
Did you have an answer? Do you know how to do it? |

Really? I did not see any mention of programming the fan to go by schedules. If you have one though.
It would be perfect.
Like I said, I just want to get the fan to kick on at certain time to circulate air. Different times in the summer than winter. All the ones I have seen you cannot program the fan, just the temp and if it is heat or AC. |

| Haven't researched enough the Honeywell »www.alpinehomeair.com/viewproduc···53055717
lets you circulate the air randomly at the times you want. |

1 edit | reply to morpheus6d9 All you need is some 24vlt ac diodes and some resistors... Get a timer that is 24vlt ac (outdoor light come to mind), install a wire to the same wire that turns on your fan and put 1 diode before the first thermostat and another before your timer. They won't back feed to each other that way. You'll need to properly research how to install diodes on ac line first otherwise you can cause some serious damage. |

| reply to Warzau I have one of those and it works wonderfully. The front of my house gets a lot of sun so I have the sun run continuously during that time period to circulate that air. The heat or air then cycles as needed. |

Warzau Premium join:2000-10-26 Naperville, IL clubs: | I do that as well. The Southern Exposure gets alot of sun and I have the Themo set low and the system on circ during mid day then at night have it on auto and back to "reg" temps. |

Please don't follow this advice.... |
