Yeah, the G-Men is a surprise Rook. They can still get it together. Well one thing I can say is that Baltimore has only lost to division leading teams (NE, MIN, CIN) and beat 1 (DEN). Whoop-dee-doo. Plenty of tough football left though (Indy, PITx2). These losses to Cincy are inexcusable but give them credit...Cincy just played better.

The G-men?

MLB Urlacher out for the season, MLB Hillenmeyer in and out with injuries, LB Tinoisamoa out, DT Tommie Harris has had long term problems with knees along with lingering stupidity, no reliable play from the secondary except for Peanut Tillman. Head coach Lovie Smith took over defensive play calling. There have been many questionable defensive play calls and the defense is subject to giving up big plays due to lack of execution. The predication of the defensive scheme is based on a good pass rush with the front 4 and creating turnovers. The pass rush is spotty at best and they are 20th in the NFL in turnover margin at -1.

Shaggy : True. Denver has A better offense in place for a QB. But Cutler has to take some blame as well. He needs to take control of his offense like Orton has

That's because our offensive line is complete trash. Not only that, but he has to work a ridiculous amount in order to make up for that horrendous defense which the Bears possess. I feel bad for the guy. He is an awesome QB though.

I tend to agree. The Broncos, or maybe I should say Kyle Orton, "are who we thought they were".

I knew, when Pittsburgh went to the half with the lead, that it was over. To play as bad as they did and have the lead... it was only a matter of time with that defense. Plus the Broncos O is being exposed now.

Eagles LoveR : The thing that frustrates me the most is one week we destroy the Giants like their nothing and then the next week we come out flat.. The team has to be consistent.. I hate seeing big wins and big loses week in and week out.. I'm going to have a heart attack!!

This team has to grow up and play better.. the next 4 out of 5 games are away.. if we can come out of that with a good record we can do some things.. but San Diego will be a challenge next week.. we'll see

Eagles LoveR : It was very difficult.. But the bottom line is you won regardless of the bad ref calls.. There were other plays out there where Philly could and should have capitalized and didn't.. It wasn't the refs fault Miles Austin double moved Sheldon and Sheldon bit on it.. Miles pooed on the secondary and that had nothing to do with Refs.. I can sit here and cry about the 4th down and 1 call which was wrong and you know it.. But the defense should have made the stand they didn't.

Eagles LoveR : Shaggy i'll give it you the Dallas defense those guys are for real that get at it.. It doesn't help that our o-line is just average as I thought it would be as I said before the season even started in earlier threads..

You guys made more plays regardless of the bad calls you made more plays on both sides of the ball... There is one thing I do know the final game of the season in Dallas will be a huge one and will be fighting for a playoff spot or a bye week..

Congrats on a big win..

and for the Eagles they need to get shit straight and learn to give the ball to Weaver on short yardage.. the drops by the WRs are terrible.. Shady McCoy had at least 3 drops in the screen game when NO ONE was around him.. Maclin with the big drop on our first drive which then turned into an INT.. the o-line NEEDS to get better if this team wants to do ANYTHING that o-line needs to get better..

and like ALWAYS! Andy Reid NEEDS to run the ball.. I know it wasn't that bad stat wise last night but when it came down to crunch time it was pass pass pass pass pass.. I mean they even passed on 3rd and short.. WHY NOT GIVE IT TO WEAVER! THE MAN ALWAYS FELL FOWARD!!! He was gashing Dallas' defense.. He's a monster!

I mean McNabbs first pick was a ball perfectly thrown to Maclin for a first down but instead Maclin drops it tips it and it flies in the air for a pick which results in Dallas' first TD of the game... I don't remember the second pick but I'm pretty sure that one was all on Donovan.. but either way it should have been only 1 pick by Donovan not 2..

The defense played pretty good considering how poorly the offense played.. other than the same thing thats been happening all the time.. the tight end!

not going for it down on 4th down and kicking the field goal when you have no timeouts was a horrible decision but yet again it's Reid.. my god it is so annoying seeing that

the o-line yet again played very average to below average.. Jason Peters did have a huge game considering he was injured and playing that beast Ware.. but the rest of the o-line just couldn't block especially Ratliff..

I'd say the biggest disappoint was giving the ball to Shady mccoy in short yardage instead of weaver in big 3rd and 4th in 1s.. and also the horrible horrible reffing..

No doubt that season isn't over seeing how they play again and Dallas won last years first meeting and we all know what happened next.. The Eagles have to get shit fixed and be consistent play like they did against NYG not like they did today and against Oakland.. this team is so schizophrenic it's annoying.. 8 games in and I still don't know what team this team is.. just like Last year

Having 2 MLB go down on IR and the SAM LB out for this week really hurts.. injuries left and right especially to that LB core.. But the o-line really needs to pass protect.. Donovan had Maclin wide open for that TD but ware just pooed and got to McNabbs arm just in time..

10-6 and may I say with such a bad half with the drops and not protecting McNabb I'm happy thats all it is especially by holding the cowboys to a field goal at the end of half..

it will be interesting to see how the 2nd half goes

Van : When the Lions drafted Stafford, they knew they were getting a gun-slinging, mistaken prone QB.

He is not someone that was going to throw it all around all conservative like Ryan/Flacco their 1st years.

People have memory loss about Peyton Mannings first year where he had what was it...28 INT's? It happens....

Stafford looks VERY good on many plays and VERY bad. QB's like Heath Shuler, Leaf, etc....rarely had the moments Stafford has already had

With that said, the Lions still suck

Not all QB`s start with a team that has some stability like Ryan did. Mat has to learn from scratch and build the offense playbook from page 1 with his coach and teammates

I'd love to have Matt Stafford on the Redskins. He's a rookie QB on a bad team, and rookie QB's usually have a tough first year (or two). He'll be plenty good in time.

The offensive line and the defense are still pretty bad for the Lions. But compared to the way the team was run steadily downhill by Matt Millen, they're at least heading in the right direction. Believe it or not this year is an improvement over last year for the Lions.

I agree.. Reid is the most pass oriented coach in NFL history.. you can't win a SB if your offense is no balanced no matter who your QB is.. Westbrook has been here since 03 he is one of the most talented players in the NFL.. Why not use him? Reid is an overrated coach especially in the big games.. and he is HORRIBLE at halftime adjustments.. Most recently was the Raiders game where his gameplan didn't where.. instead of switching it up he kept to it which is why we lost to the worst team in the NFL...

But this WR core is the best WR core top to bottom I have ever seen an Eagles team have.. And they are only going to get better

Actually if you read, I dont put QB ratings as the end all be all stat, they are also not competely useless like you would like them to be. I haven't mentioned QB ratings in this comparision of Brees and Mannning, you did.

3 INTs and 7 TDs really isn't what I call a great playoff run.. nor is 1 td to 1 INT in the SB a great stat game with under 85 QB rating.. you are so high on QB ratings yet his was just average in the SB and below average in the playoff run

drslash : Brees may very well be the better QB right now. Since the goal is to win the SB, I would take Manning right now. Manning has won a SB. Manning is an on the field coach/offensive coordinator. Brees does not quite take that much on his shoulders right now. Brees is good enough to win a SB. Right now I would place my money on Manning, if I had to pick between the two. Killing yourself based on Manning vs. Brees makes for interesting conversation but does not do anything for your argument. I will totally agree that Brees is the much better QB if the Saints defeat the Colts in the SB. If the SB was today between these two teams, I would put my money on the Colts because of Manning.

So Manning threw one less TD, but had thrown 2 less INT's and threw for 221 more yards. Drew is a great QB, I will still take Manning over him. I also doubt anyone would be unhappy with either of them at QB.

God knows there are QB's that produce half that and are hyped like they are as good.

If I had Brees as my QB and then woke up with Peyton Manning as my QB I would kill myself.. Brees right now is a better QB than Peyton.. Drew is not only the best QB in the NFL he is the best player in the NFL with ADP right behind him

Chillin : Brees is a great QB. So is Manning. This years numbers:

Brees:
TD: 16, INT: 6, YDS: 2006

Manning:
TD: 15, INT: 4, YDS: 2227

So Manning threw one less TD, but had thrown 2 less INT's and threw for 221 more yards. Drew is a great QB, I will still take Manning over him. I also doubt anyone would be unhappy with either of them at QB.

God knows there are QB's that produce half that and are hyped like they are as good.

Edge1 : Ravens long snapper Matt Katula (elbow) has not practiced yet this week, and guess who the backup is? None other than Willis McGahee. He's serious about it and has taken snaps at LS all through training camp and into the season.

Eagles LoveR : That Roy Williams trade might be the worst trade in NFL history.. I was actually upset when the cowboys got him.. But Roy just will never live to his potential.. and to boot now he's trashing Romo.. Atleast when T.O. did he he had talent and will make the HOF.. Wiliams won't do shit...

But the thing is Miami ran all over the Colts defense and showed how weak their defense is but Peyton Manning still did the job with the limited amount of plays he had.. Drew Brees can do the same seeing how he is playing better than Manning and any other QB in the NFL.. and the Saints defense is better than indy's.

capdjq : I see two big upsets this week:

Carolina will beat the Saints.

Houston will knock off the Colts.

Carolina has a winning record against the Saints and, if they can run the football well, the Saints will lose.

Indy has only defeated one team with a winning record and the Texans are for real. It should be a shootout Schaub against Manning but I think the Texans will prevail.

A minor upset should be Dallas over Phillie.

I personally don`t give a rats ass who wins, But it`s nice to be one of the few who recognizes a fatal flaw in the saints D. And it`s not as simple as people might think. With all that speed comes a hefty price ;)

The last time he played in Denver, the exertion in the high-altitude, low-oxygen, thin air caused his sickle-cell trait to damage his spleen and gall bladder. He darn near died, and missed the remainder of the 2007 season.

Ryan, it ain't worth your life... I don't care if the doctors say that the odds are low that something bad will happen. It's only one game, and you have a family to think about. :uhh:

He will travel with the team to Denver, but it isn't clear if he will play. I think the equipment manager should "conveniently" leave his gear behind... oh well, too bad.

Shaggy : Miles (flash) Austin finally gets his chance at a division opponent as the #1 man. 1 start followed with a bye and 2 more starts is all the time he has to be ready. Romo seems more comfortable with him,and the other recievers seem more comfortable as well.

RB's are ready. Didn't have Felix but 3 games last year.....ohhh it's on :D
