| Email with Millenicom?
I'm just starting up with Mcom and I thought I'd have to go to some other provider for email but I just noticed on their site they have an email server. Are most people going through them? I asked Mcom yesterday while straightening out my modem problem and he said there was a 2 email account limit but he wasn't the best guy I've talked to there. Ideas? |

| Go into the Support menu on the Millenicom.com site.
Then go into "CHAT SUPPORT".... Its an easy way to contact a tech. Tell them you want to set up an email account. they have to do it for you.
If you call at night, you might reach Jarrod. he's the best tech! |

| reply to Timinator As compuguybna said, just contact Tech Support and they'll get you set up. However from what I've seen, most of us don't use the Millenicom email; I personally use GMail which really is superior to many other mail services. |

| reply to Timinator Back in the early 90s I got tired of changing email accounts every time I switched to a new ISP and got hotmail accounts for all my family. In recent years I have gone over to Yahoo for my web based email accounts. I think Yahoo has much more to offer than hotmail. Just my 2¢ |

| Indeed. It is so much more convenient to have an email service that is in the cloud. Access it anywhere on any computer, not tied to an ISP, full history and searchable. Why have it it any other way? -- ... need help? »evdo-tips.com/ |

| reply to Timinator I must be 'behind' on tech things ;-] - use Yahoo mail for many years - paid for pop access, then canceled premium pop service after several years - could not justify the expense, still use the web access
Now - I just discovered that Gmail has pop access built in ! - Wow - I now have a G-account. |

| reply to Timinator I personally have 3 Hotmail accounts and only use the Millenicom for very personal email stuff to avoid spam crap. To date, after setting up my MCom email acct 7 months ago I've yet to get a spam email.
Set your email up responsively. Use throwaway accounts (i.e. hotmail, gmail, or whatever) for your more active stuff, and save your personal email for things you really want private. -- Windows XP Pro SP3 / Windows 7 64bit RC|AMD Phenom X3 8650|Asus M3N72-D Motherboard|4GB Patriot PC2-8500 1066MHz RAM|EVGA GeForce GTS 250 1GB Ram Superclock Edition |

| reply to Timinator So is POP the type of account or email that automatically downloads to your computer as emails come in and the the others are web based where you have to log into a web page to look at them? I've always used Outlook Express or whatever that crap one is on Vista and would like to keep with that type of account where they automatically download. I like having the ability to go to a web site and get them if I'm traveling and not by my computer though. Or be able to mabe look at them with the Droid phone I'll be getting tomorrow! |

| In the slow dial-up days I too liked having the POP accounts download attachments and graphics as they came in. Today with much faster Internet connections the web based email works great for me. The Yahoo mail I use lets me know when new mail comes in. If you install Yahoo Messenger it runs in the background and will pop up a new mail icon in the tray to alert you. Just click on it and the yahoo mail page will come up on your browser. |

I'm still waiting on my modem for Millenicom, so, someday. |

Have you received a tracking number to the email address you supplied to Mcom? If not, log in at Mcom and check client info\packages and see if theres a USPS tracking number that you can check the status of the shipment. |

| reply to Timinator Nope, thanks for reminding me of that. I just called Mcom and talked with Dennis, he said my Sierra 698U is on it's way and should get there today or tomorrow. I said, you guys were suppose to be sending me an Ovation MC760? And then the dancing started.....again.
So far I got a Cradlepoint modem that's been sitting here for two weeks. I have a Cyfre Amp and antenna from Maximum Signal that's been here for two weeks, custom extension cable from eur-am that's been here over a week but not one damn thing from Millenicom has been done right yet. Not one. Two wrong modems, no calls or emails to tell me their out of a modem or that the one they are sending me is different than the one they assured me I'd be getting. Which is important when you're trying to get the right interface to the amplifier. No call or email saying their waiting for the Franklins that they were out of. Nothing but crap so far.
Not impressed at all by Millenicom so far. They get about as big a zero for Customer Satisfaction as I can make. |

| reply to Timinator They aren't jerking me around they just have completely dysfunctional customer service. They sent me a bill over two weeks ago for service I don't have so obviously their billing department is working just fine. I'm just really leary after 6 years with Hughes. I'm not going through that ever again. |
