TK421 posted : Fun and addicting game.

I finished the mines and now 12 levels into the shadow vault... the game never really ends. I never even read the manual until now but doesn't seem to mention ending the game.

How does character "retire" work? You select one choice piece of loot, weapon or item, and it gets improved and made available at the start for a new game with the same character class? And anything left in shared stash is available for a new game? Is that right?

There's some nice innovations from D2 - yeah I know it's not really Diablo 3 but may as well be (minus multiplayer). Discovered late in the game you can re-enchant any equipment - ruined a few of my best armors though. No saves keeps it risky but fair. First RPG I ever played without becoming pointlessly wealthy - always able to spend all gold - used transmutation heavily to get the best gems, often sacrificing good items instead of selling them.

Dooby posted : I'm playing it. It rocks.

For $20 you get a Diablo 2 style cartoon based dungeon romper with craploads of loot, flimsy storyline and multiple options to build a character. Perfect :). There is no multiplayer in this version but there will be a multiplayer game made in the future, apparently.

If you're after a deep, mind bending and highly crafted world and story, then this isn't for you. This is an old style dungeon romp, plain and simple, and it's fun!

There are 3 classes. The Destroyer (see the pics). The Alchemist. The Vanquisher. Each class has their own specific skill tree, but there are cross-over skills that allow a lot of flexibility in creating your character. For example, the Alchemist, a wand weilding magic user can be built to wield a pair of pistols instead ;) I won't spoil any more of what you can do, look into it yourself.

You buy and sell loot to improve your gear and level up to improve your skills. Sound familiar? Of course, there is nothing new about this and that's why you'll get into it quickly with only the tiniest of learning curve.

For $20 I felt this was worth it and I think they priced it correctly.
--
As quiet as a fish..
<TABLE WIDTH=95% align=center border=0 CELLPADDING=4">

(Click)

(Click)
